Today I remembered something important. Why i chose my major. I remebered i chose it because I absolutely LOVE IT! For those of you who dont know, I am majoring in Music Education (instumental).I have known for a long time that i wanted to major in something music related, but i wasnt totally sure what. I though about Theory/Composition, and maybe even performance(that one was a longshot... haha), that is until 2 years ago. That is when i started teaching. I started teaching one summer after i volunteered at Frankiln Elementary Schools Summer Orchestra Program. My little sister was a part of it, so i figured it would be fun to help out. The teacher, Mr. Olson, is one of the greatest teachers I have ever met. He was PHENOMINAL with the kids and i learned so much from him! He reccomened that i start teaching and refered a few students to me and since then I have taught Viola, Violin and Piano and i love them all. ALOT. I love my students, and I love that i can share my love of music with other people. It makes me so happy! I was pretty bummed out when i couldn't fit any music classes into my schedule this semester (a music ed major with no music classes, how sad is that?! )but, next semerter i get to take Music Theory I, Aural Perception I AND be part of MCC's orchestra! I cant wait!! It will be so wonderful!

P.S. If you or anyone you know are interested in taking Piano, Violin or Viola lessons, I have some openings that i would love to fill! Just let me know! (Comment, text, email, FB message, whatever!)

Happy Day
Today is a happy day. Why, you ask, is it happy? Because I am writing this post from my new, FREE laptop!! That right. FREE! I went to go visit one of my high school teachers today and while we were talking she says "Do you want a computer? Because i got a new one and don't need this one anymore. It still works great, do you want it?" Is that even a question?! So i said yes, and here I am! Woo hoo! Thats the happy news of the day!

Change
(Picture via Pinterest)
Today I have this overwhelming need for some change in my life, and its kind of freaking me out. I have lived in Mesa my entire life. Know the same people. Done the same things. Now, don't get me wrong, I absolutely love it. I love the people I see every day, my family and the things i do, but i need something different. Nothing permanent, just different. A change from the monotony. Every day I get up, i go to school, i go to work, i do my homework, then i go to bed. Every day. I want to do something exciting. Something i've never done before. Meet people i've never met. Go somewhere i've never gone. Maybe i should create a bucket list or something. Maybe i should change my hair. Or go skydiving. Or write a song. Or actually go away to college.Or maybe i'll just take a trip...

(P.S. Just kidding about the skydiving... that will NEVER haapen! Ha I'm WAY to afraid of heights!!)

Patterns of Light
I love institute. SO MUCH!! I love having a place where I can go and learn about the gospel and feel the spirit outside of church. If you are not in institute(or seminary) you should get enrolled. Really. It is worth your time! Today in class we talked about receiving revelation and how it comes in all different ways. We watched this video and it is just what I needed to hear (It is the last of a 3 video series, i reccomend watching them all! You can find them on lds.org) . I have had questions recently and seeing this video helped alot. It gave me a new perspective on revelation and receiving answers to prayers. It is great!

Party time!

I have to say, my weekend was pretty exciting! We had our anual "peachfest" party with some ward members and friends. Smoked meat, peach desserts, and lots of friends. It doesnt get much better than that! Then on Sunday I started going to the singles ward. Me being the girl who has been in the same ward since i was like one, this was a pretty big deal! It will take a little getting used to, but i loved it! The other ward members are so nice and I think i'll have alot of fun!
